The end of something is a time to reflect on what went wrong, what went good and what needs to change. Sports teams watch film of their previous game to review what needs to change for improvement. The teams reflect not just when the game is lost but also when the game is won. They spend time studying the next opponent to learn how to defeat them when it's time for the competition.
All year in 2024 God spoke to me about not being to hard on myself. There has to be balance of pushing toward goals and enjoying life. I believe for 2025 God is speaking the same thing, don't be so hard on yourself. In 2024 mistakes were made and bad things happened but it's important to not let those things take away hopes and dreams.
Don't be so hard on yourself if you didn't lose the weight you wanted in 2024. Don't be so hard on yourself if you didn't get the job you were hoping to receive. Don't be so hard on yourself if you didn't get approved for the house or car you wanted. Don't be so hard on yourself if your children didn't do anything to brag about on social media. Don't be so hard on yourself if loved ones passed away and you're still grieving. Don't be so hard on yourself if relationships ended you never thought would end. Don't be so hard on yourself if your business didn't get off the ground like you expected. Don't be so hard on yourself if you didn't get that book written. When bad things happen know that it is temporary.
I like to use sports as an example. At the start of every sports season every team hopes to win the championship. Of course not all of them make it. Every year there seems to be different teams in championships. Teams are accustomed to having a winning year and a losing year. The losing still hurts. I've seen players crying and have disappointed faces because they lost a game. But then they come back the next game or the next season with a new plan. They don't let the nightmare of losing keep them from their dreams of winning a championship.
My challenge for you for in 2025 is don't be so hard on yourself. Don't give up on a dream because of a temporary nightmare.
